if that is a word, my two color potatoes are showing some interesting changes,
since I didn't plant any purple potatoes this year, only the two color saved for 3 or is it 4 years now? and yellow random IGA variety left in the bottom of the bag, when I dug out what I expected to be the two color variety, couple are really more purple and also show some interesting nodules sort of like Jerusalem artichokes, so wondering if the hybrid is falling apart so to speak?

That shouldnt really happen, as I assume you are not using seeds, but planting sprouted potatoes. Sprouted potatoes are not seeds, but a clone of the mother, not like a tomato or corn, that will revert to one of its progenitors.

When I was a kid, the neighbor kept sed potatoes from the biggest hills for 20 years and claimed he had bred a higher yielding spud. But my understanding is that thats just codswallop. (Put that word in for KB)

WLL should really chime in and tell us for sure.

Codswallop, haven't heard that in a while. Love it ! Will use that as my word for the week!

I am really curious to see how the rest of them look, maybe a new variety ?
