greenhouse ideas

Post by baronrenfrew » Fri Dec 07, 2018 4:30 pm

I once posted ideas about a “chicken greenhouse” (i just bumped that thread) and came across this neat and energy efficient greenhouse. Nebraska weather is close with ours in Ottawa.

Nice, we made a similar "safe run" for our chickens several years ago, and I don't think we would still have chickens without that, there would be no way to protect them otherwise and keeping them under lock and key wasn't really how we wanted to keep our flock.

Sorry Bert, I am a bit skeptical, the amount of work and dedication a greenhouse like that takes, requires more time then most of us can find, nice dream though :-)

Pretty much all of my chickens live year round in smaller hoop style coops similar to this, 4' x 8' and 6' x 10'. I currently have 5 small hoop houses, each slightly different. Currently working on better plans to build 4 new ones this spring.

I believe Auntie Evil on ACE built a great efficient greenhouse?
Adding thread link I hope that's OK
