Asking for a friend...

Post by Dominion Link » Sun Aug 19, 2018 9:51 am

A friend of mine in northern Ontario has found this shrub growing in her fencerow. Anybody recognize it?

Just happened to find a new App called Plant Snap. It helps to ID a plant from a photo. Kind of a neat thing.

The leaves look very much like Datura a.k.a. Jimson Weed, but I don't see any flowers or seed pods. I would think one growing wild would be unlikely to reach "shrub" proportions, especially further north...?

I see some wispy flowers sprays in there, but I can't tell if they're attached to that plant. If they do, it's not Datura, and I have no idea WHAT it is. If they DON'T, have her look for thin flowers like closed morning glories, like this
