Yes i have grown it from seed. It needs a lot of patience....mine took a long time to germinate. It also sprouted better when sprinkled on the surface and just pressed into the surface and a little bit of soil sprinkled on top. I had to be careful with keeping the soil damp but not wet. Once it germinated it grew like a weed...but getting it to germinate was a bit of a chore....

Well Farriers Walking Onions are doing great, way better than the garlic. Pretty too with the little bulby things on top.

Help Colin. The bulby things have sprouts. Will they still be OK if I plant them now?

That's the idea, they bend over and plant themselves :)
Had to get rid of them, if I turned my back, they walked off all over the countryside, kept finding them in the shrubbery for years :)

Yeah, You can plant those little bulbs from now to October. They will stay green all winter and be the first green onions in the spring. You can eat those little bulbs too, but be careful, they pack a lot of onion in a little package.
