So this spring, purely by chance I came across some pumpkin seeds I saved some time ago and then forgot to plant.
In an effort to clean up, I threw them on one of the compost bins, pretty sure the wouldn't come up.
Since they got watering on regular bases by the deluge that was our spring and summer, they came up and grew.......and ...and grew... and then climbed the fence and today I noticed one shoot is heading up the maple tree...
may have some winners for the Carp fair

Wow! It seems to be a good year for pumpkin and squash plants. I threw out pumpkins and squash that went bad onto the manure pile, the cows that are renting here walked through them and now there are squash and pumpkin growing everywhere.

I have to admit, your plant turned out much larger than mine! But I'm sure there are two different squash type plants growing out of my compost.

Yep, we had a pumpkin we kept until easter (we should have chopped it up at valentines day) and threw it in the barnyard. It seems that cows are afraid of "vines" as we have grown pumpkins around cows before and the cows never touch the plants. Lots of feral pumpkins happening.

Not to mention the other "weed" growing wild here since dad bought the place in 1972.

Oh we used to have some of that other "weed" growing here too. It's cattle feed right LOL!
