Fancy GOOD Potatoes!

Post by muffin » Fri Jun 23, 2017 9:33 pm

We ended up planting way more than I had planned on....we will be offering seed potatoes this fall of some very interesting varieties...

Redder Blood - yes, it is really red!
Marc Warshaw - these are awesome potatoes, excellent keepers, make excellent french fries, skins are red and white patched
Peruvian Purple - so dark it is almost black outside, very dark purple inside, a landrace variety from Peru
German Butterball- big oval yellow flesh with a smooth buttery flavor
Warba - very early variety, only 45 days! Great "new potatoes"

and some very special "new" potatoes, that will be very limited...you will have to wait and see ;)

We eat and taste test, if they are here, they passed for taste!

AND lots of colour too, why be white when you can have red, blue, purple too?

I like the purple potatoes, I have been growing them for four years now.

I like fingerlings. We did a lousy job of digging them all up last year so they came up all by themselves :) What is more, they are delicious!

My favourite is German Butterball. Warba did well in my garden too.
