Last year was my first attempt at growing sweet potatoes. Was ok, and I learned some, so will grow some more this year.
Out digging the garden today, I think I have come up with some volunteers. I thought these were hot weather critter, Alabama and stuff, and am surprised. Does anyone on here have experience with this? Should I just transplant them? From what I have been told before this is way too early, but the plant seems to disagree.
Thoughts and advice? Thanks.

Can you take a picture? I would be surprised if sweet potatoes survived the winter....it was not a real hard winter but the plants are very tender....if they are i would transfer them to pots and take them into the house where they will not get frost....then plant out after may 24
