I got shoots from Kathy and like yours Tom, mine were white. Not what I was expecting either. Only had enough for a meal but they were tasty. Mine struggled along and out of the 5 or 6 shoots I had only 4 grew. I think the dry hot conditions we had hindered them even though I hand watered, they really took off when we got all that rain in the early Fall but it was too late unfortunately.

I got them in very late--late June. My bad :/ They never really took off, and I got maybe a gallon container of small tubers. Which are long gone LOL, they were very tasty!

I didn't get mine planted as early as i would have liked, because of other stuff taking priority. In spite of the shorter time they had to grow, and the drought, I did get 5 rather large tubers, the same number again of smaller tubers, and adozen or so teeny ones. I still have a couple of the big ones left. They have great flavour and we've really enjoyed them. I cooked up the teeny ones too. They were added several times to our dog's dinner. And he was most appreciative. :-)

So technically you had 100% success from what you planted!

WPG: that's right, I dropped off EO eggs to you. How well did you do with those?

Kathy... I need a quick lesson in what to do to start slips of my own... Can I do it from some of these smaller tubers? And how?
