Sweet potatoes....

Post by WLLady » Mon Dec 05, 2016 3:11 pm

put the sweet potato, pointed side down (you can hold it with toothpicks jammed in the side and resting on the lip of the jar if you want), in a tin of water (or a jar of water) and wait until there are sprouts growing out of the tuber and let them grow until they are big enough to break off (i let them get about 4-5 inches long) and then put the rootless green sprouts into a new jar of water and they'll root. once they are rooted you can pot them up in potting soil, and let them grow until it's time to put them in the garden. I use the smaller ones all the time for this, in fact, mine are producing shoots already gah!
