Spring again?!
Spring again?!
I was moving a bag of compost from the car to the garden when I noticed those distinctive frilly fronds. On closer inspection their was this!
Glad they popped up now as this is a new place for us I now know where to look and will add some nice sheep compost to it!

Another thing I have noticed is my tomatoes are flowering again as well as the beans. What the heck? Bonus but weird.........

My tomatoes have as well. And my honeysuckle tree gave out a few flowers. That tree has been done for a while. Maybe it is the sudden increase in much needed rain.

Spring again?!
I think many plants went into dormancy during the drought and have just come back again as they would in the spring. Especially those that don't need a cold I.e. freezing period or an extended dormancy to regrow.
I just hope it doesn't affect their production next year as they should be putting up reserves now not expending it on new growth!
But oh is it nice ti see all the green again after the brown!

yep, looks like the spring stuff grew and went dormant, mine need to be cut down they're all dry and yellow with dry seeds on some of the plants (the female ones), and there's all kinds of new green stuff underneath. i'll go this weekend and cut down all the dry stuff and let the green do its thing and hopefully rejuvenate the plants for next spring.

Spring again?!
Just picked yellow beans. They wouldn't do anything all summer and now they're great. My potatoes that are left in the ground are sprouting again!

I pick a whole bunch of sorrel in the lawn yesterday too...
Many of the farmers around here are hoping that they can get another cut of hay off and by the looks of the fields looks like a good bet. Will help make up for a bit off the loss during the drought, I hope so many are looking at selling their livestock to cope.
