Shallots
I have grown the little round pinkish ones from the grocery store, they work like multiplier onions. This year I tried banana shallots (Zebrune), and it was a mixed bag. I lost a lot of seedlings but those that grew did quite well, and you get a lot more "meat" for the amount of peeling on account of the shape being different. However they are hybrids and so you're stuck buying new seeds every year. They are still curing, so I'm not sure if the taste will justify fiddling with seedlings again in the future.
