I am suffering from a great shortage of Day lilies, deer took off most of the buds, so not many blooms this year, just managed to fence off a small clump of Mary Todd (yellow) and a bit of a reward for my troubles Highland Lord, well worth waiting for.

It's an incredible bloom, the yellow inside and at the base makes it look as if there is a light source in there, my picture doesn't do it justice the bloom is velvety deep red with bluish undertones and the petals are very thick, glad the deer left me some. :)

Those are nice...the only ones we have blooming are the common orange ditch lillies...keep hoping my very special seedlings will bloom, but so far they haven't :(

Nice pics everyone. I love lilies too! I don't know if I can fit all my pictures in one post. Mine are now fenced in, as most of our gardens are. I'm not sure of the names of my lilies either. Still have more to bloom.

I have given up on the asiatic lilies, decided life was too short to spend time squashing disgusting beetles, that's why I love Day lilies, if only the deer didn't love them too.
Kathy, we may need a picture of tree lilies ?
