So I'm not the best gardener. Hate gardening with every ounce of my being, but I still do it because ... Ahh who cares why. Anyways...
I'm growing spinach this year. It's growing seed/flowering stems. Time to cut? Can I cut a certain way so it regrows more like romaine lettuce and kale?

I think once it "bolts" it's chicken feed. As soon as you see the seed heads appear you should snap them off. I hope someone else has better advice. Most spinach varieties do not like hot weather.

I snapped most off earlier in the week when I weeded. But after the rain and then sun yesterday I looked this morning and poof, almost all have it.
What's chicken feed? The 'bolts'? Or the spinach itself?

The whole plant is chicken feed after it bolts. In my opinion. I struggle to grow spinach in our sand, as soon as it gets hot it bolts. Chard is much easier to grow.

Spinach likes cool weather, which makes the season here very short, trick is.......plant early eat fast.

Once it bolts / blooms, the leaves are tough and bitter so like goatgal says, only good for chickens.

Ugh! Sooooo frustrating!! So will it regrow if I snip off all the leaves?
Well I'll try it anyways

If you cut it back leave about 4 leaves on it and it should resprout, but it will be bitter.
better to pull the whole plant and put more seed in.

I agree with WLLady. With hot springs, like this one, it's almost impossible to stay on top of spinach. It seems to grow overnight. I sometimes replant in early August for a fall harvest.

Maybe I'll just do the fall.
I will taste and see if it is tolerable. I hate waste.
