Ok, so the first question. Planting onions and peppers. If you want hot onions, plant next to hot peppers. Mild peppers and onions, both will be mild. One of each, they will modify each other, both will be somewhere in the middle. This may or may not be true. I just like making stuff like this up.
Potatoes. I tried Caribe last year and was very peased. Purple skin, white flesh, no scab, four or five fairly good sized per hill, kept till Martch/april in my not so great storage spot. I love my new potatoes and planted some in March, doesn't always work, but is fine this year, I expect to be eating new potatoes by mid June.
Planting the Caribes again this year, but got a hint from my father in law. Not planting the ones to store for winter til mid to late June. Then they are still growing and not ready to harvest til late Sept when they will die back. Harvest and put in storage. They won't have to be stored so long before use.
