Big surprise. DH looked up into the hazelnuts and found quite a few. Not sure what to do next. They taste good.

Lucky you, couldn't grow them here, the squirrels would harvest them.

Great about the hazel nuts! I'm sure the squirrels would get them all here too. They've been going nuts burying Black Walnuts EVERYWHERE!!!!

I was surprised to find enough runner beans and pole beans for a few meals. They are usually too big at this time of the year.

We shot all the squirrels after they killed a couple of turkey day olds.

I see your point KB. Squirrels can be so vicious :(.

Does anyone know if it's too late to plant garlic? Time got away from me this year (even more so than in previous years ;-)), and I just realized that I haven't even prepared the bed yet. No big deal, it won't take long, but I am more concerned that they will have enough time to establish before the hard frost ...

Never too late to plant garlic @Jaye , they will be happy one way or another, spring is good too, but I find they are way ahead if you get them in in the fall.

I just read that garlic should be planted here around mid-October. I planted mine a couple of days ago because I hate to freeze my fingers!
