OC makes me feel very inadequate. I have a mountainous pile of stuff at the back which I'm sure is slime at the bottom!

branches don't compost very quickly. with that said, if i put a 2 inch branch into my manure pile, and turn it in it takes about 2 years to be completely gone. i spread my pile more often than that (once a year, in the spring) and don't want the branches to damage the fins on the spreader, so i use the branches as bonfire starter.

guess i'm lazy. i'm all for option 1 in schnookies post. LOL. pile it and let it be for a year or so.....
