Fox

Post by Giffen Farms » Sat Dec 05, 2020 2:07 pm

I now have a fox living under my coop, fill one hole in another one opens up, there's a garden around 3 of the sides and is a mess, did have skunks but was able to evict them earlier in the fall.

If there's anyone in the barrie area that would like to get rid of it come on over, don't matter to me if you want to relocate or turn into a handbag

Get a bag of spray/white lime from feed store & pour in holes / underneath. Don’t let chickens get into it . Burns feet if & gets in face they soon leave .

OK question @ross or anyone else. What bait should I use for a fox??? The bugger was back last night so he needs to go away.

There real chewers got to be steel . I have a large one from TSC for yotes with extra compartment for live critter in warmer weather that predator can’t get at .
Wounded rabbit call & shotgun # 2s work well in daylight . If he’s back at night he’s hanging nearby sleeping. Luck

OK @ross there is a little kick to the trapping system that may work. I might try the "cat call" I'm good at that and it works well for yotes. Thanks for the info re sleeping close, didn't know that.

Get a coyote live trap. Punch a hole in a tin of catfood and wire it to the top corner inside the end farthest from the door. You have to wire it so they pull on it while standing on the pressure release. Make sure the trap is on the path its using all the time and make sure it doesnt rock and use the stinkiest wet catfood you can find-like the seafood tinned catfood
