A Little Lake Erie Fun!!!

Post by JimW » Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:06 pm

Made a quick trip to SW Ontario this weekend for my daughter's beach volleyball tournament, too close to the lake not to fish, luckily my buddy's boat is docked at Port Glascow on Lake Erie, so we made a quick trip out for Lake Erie walleye Saturday evening with my daughter, her volleyball partner and my buddy Bryan and his son.

The fish had moved from the day before so fishing was not great, but we picked away at them for about 3 hours trolling with spoons and minnow baits using leadcore line, dipsey divers and downriggers, and managed 14 walleye and 2 rainbow trout. All in all a decent evening on the water with family and friends and some fine food in the freezer.

Back home now.

Hopefully I will be back down to Lake Erie in about a week and a half.

Oh, YUM! Walleye are delicious. I'm not a huge fan of freshwater fish, but walleye are one of my very few exceptions. Jealous!

Yes walleye are one of my favourite eating fish. Though we ate one of the rainbow trout BBQed last night and it was mighty tasty.

Anyone notice the girls’ heads.
