HAHAHAHA yup you can spend all the money in the world on hunting stuff and vehicles to get you there and have the same results or less than the guy with a hundred dollar gun and homemade tree stands... I still havent got a deer... not even a chance too either... I dont have anything all that fancy, made a lot of my own stuff, I still spent way more than I care to add up and I've only came home with... 1 turkey, maybe 10 squirrels, 1 dove, 1 goose and maybe 20 ducks... I've been hunting for 4 years now but im still very much a rookie. Im always learning and its very nice to have all you experienced hunters share your knowledge.

I've heard stories (but haven't been there when it happens) of grouse at the top of a population cycle..and in a fairly remote place.... so plentiful you could hit them with a stick... my brother shot 100 one autumn, he said teens on 4 wheelers would get 200 or 300 in a season. He was in Nestor Falls (south of Dryden) and I know moose hunters reported the same north of Timmins. (Of course these were only stories.. possession limit is 15 birds)

Ah to be in the right place at the right time...

Diligently follow the path of two swords as one. Percieve that which the eye cannot see. Seek the truth in all things. Do not engage in useless activity.

My Uncle had an old double barreled shot gun with one hammer brazed up and his brother hand 2 dogs with common breeding. We have a picture of the 50 fox furs hanging against the shed door.
His secret. Miles of walking to where he knew the foxes would go when dogged and excellent marksmanship. Most were shot in the neck to get the best yield of fur.
