yep! i bought a new tree stand this year specifically having a platform below the seat so i could climb to the top and then turn around safely with the fusion in my back (i can't twist to sit from standing on a ladder). it's AWESOME! and it has a shooting rail because i still cannot hold the crossbow up for too long without the muscles in my back screaming at me. so i can rest it on the shooting rail. the shooting rail lifts up so i can sit on the chair without crawling/stepping over-and i had to adjust the height because i would hit my head dropping it over me....small issue....rectified that by moving it out a little bit. bought a cocking crank aid for the crossbow. bit of a challenge because my crossbow is quite old and no longer made, but a bit of looking and a fellow off ontario out of doors hunting site had one that he sold to me. although i can pull the bow again, my surgeon would certainly not approve of a 100 pound pull to cock my crossbow will all his hard work in my back. so. i have a crank aid.....
i put my tree stand as close as i dared to the house.....because i still can't walk well on uneven surfaces (i'm practicing...it's getting there). i have a winch for when they go into the ravine. I will hunt when i can have someone available "on call" to help if needed. i will not walk back in the dark because the coyotes/brush wolves can see i don't walk well....
where there's a will there's a way.
if there's a problem, there's a fix....can't stand those that whine and complain and won't do anything about it! i'm going out, and even if it's only a couple of days, i don't care. i'm going out. because i can, i want to and i'm making it happen!!!!! LOL
great luck Ross, and all the other hunters out there.....it's only a couple weeks now till the season opens for deer! yay!

10-4 Kathy picked up a C2 Excalibur crank myself from Brian at Santarossa. Can even cock xbow from a sitting position. So nice no kick , longer season & in your face hunting . Donna & I are going to pattern 20ga today then I’ll go out later with .22 & shotgun & caller for coyotes.

next monday! it's coming! have to admit i've got my 22 out and sighted in for the length of my driveway because of mr. fox that keeps popping by. traps arrived a couple days ago, and are set at night....but i don't think he likes cat food....lol. i can't wait to get out for deer, likely the thanksgiving weekend will be the first time. they changed the turkey fall regulations this year, longer bow season for turkey! thinking about getting my licence for that, but i have about 20 turkeys in my barn, that are way way bigger and easier to "get" and a self-renewing resource....
nice bow @ross !!!! mine's similar (excalibur pheonix) without the scope. can't wait!!!!

Good luck, don't know what you are hunting for though. Turkey? Deer? Moose?
