Am I allowed to shoot squirrels that are causing a problem in the turkey paddock? They are panicking the Mums!

Why not! If you have a license for small anaimls you should be good. Other option is to trap and relocate.

It's time for their second litter so they are eating everything in sight. I limit putting feed out to 2x a day..

Good luck!

Cheers Karen

Yes, you can, if damaging property, and yes, frightening birds and eating their feed counts. It used to be open season on black and grey squirrels as a nuisance animal, but since hunting them started to get some interest, they are now classed as a small game animal and have a season. The little red squirrels, however, were considered a threatened species and not allowed to be hunted or harassed...however I no longer see them on the list, so I'm guessing that they would be fair game as well.

Good to know. They are beyond a mere nuisance here at the moment.
