His bigger brother came today! 🦃👍👍

Yesterday's turkeys didn't come to the hen calls. Actually I had one walk right past me yesterday. He was only interested in chasing the other boys around. So I followed him and was lucky that he bumped up the jake. The jake did follow hen calls and walked in on me.
So I went to the new hunting store in London yesterday and got me a gobble call for this morning.
That one didn't work today, but the hen calls did!! So out came the slates with a new striker compared to yesterday. And I was able to call in 2 adult toms. And here is the bigger one of the two!

I agree 100% @ross especially in combination with the new decoys.... Man, those are realistic!
That gobble call is not my favourite. Either I can't get it to work, or it's just bad. Either way it sounds horrible.

@thegawd must be out again, haven't seen him here much this weekend 🦃 good luck all!

I heard a gobble in the ravine behind me a couple days ago that made me stop what I was doing and listen. Even to my untrained ear that Tom sounded like he had a bad cold lol. I'm assuming it was my neighbour out fooling around since he doesn't hunt or allow any hunting. I've had a raven visiting my house for the past week that is freaking me out. He comes several times a day and garbles away in several different trees (always the same trees in the same order). I've never had any around here before...assumed he was interested in the chickens/chicks. All the crows have left the area since he showed up. I swear the darned thing seems to be trying to talk to me!
Congrats all on your turkeys!

:beer2: Martin! THATS AWESOME! I only made it out the once there. I had a hen running around the bush but no Toms. I haven't seen a whole lot of turkey signs around here. I hope all the hunters have driven them back my way. I wont be hunting them as hard as I usually do and give them a chance to come back. a flock of 28 over wintered here and disappeared this spring just like they did last spring. fingers crossed!
