Thanks GG! Right back at ya! there was a lot of really creative ideas and it was a blast! My cousin Bruce, thats who I made the call for, made a bobber snowman and it was pretty darn cool. my uncle made me a shotgun shell Santa! hahaha really cool! there was everything from a solid black ornament that represented a chunk of coal LOL to a beer can train! im so glad I broke the whole money present tradition which turned into this homemade ornament gift giving tradition. OH YA one really good one was a melted snowman, too cool!

I just love this idea and that your family has embraced it! Those ornaments are so original and meaningful. Just imagine how special it will be to decorate your tree every year and reminisce over each ornament that you pull out to hang. Good on you.
The year my dad passed I made ornaments for everyone out of my dad's old flannel shirts. They are stuffed and I tucked a bit of Amphora Red pipe tobacco inside each one...He was a pipe smoker for years and anytime I smell that it's a flood of happy memories.

Thank you Very Much Happy! My grandmother was almost in tears talking about the memories attached to each ornament on her tree and how we have all made them through out the years. shes just absolutely LOVES this and so does everyone else!

That is really great what you did with your Dads shirts, beautiful!

our Xmas tree here at home is completely covered in homemade ornaments the kids made. they even get to set it up all by themselves. Allen, he is 6, set up his own tree as well. LOL. heck he even troubleshot the lights and fixed them. that makes me so happy! :-) Merry Christmas!

Allen grew a very decent amount of heirloom mini watermelons this year in our garden. he planted all the seeds weeded them constantly. My Aunt Sue was his biggest customer and those melons were delicious! she pulled his name and made him this.
