Promising start for your friend!

Supposed to be heading up to Kapuskasing for next week but Momma is struggling a bit in the final 5 weeks of pregnancy so I may not make it this year. Good luck to all that do get out for moose!

Going to add this here. Saw this when we were canoeing in the north country. Calf a couple of days old we first saw it when it was still wobbly like the bambi movie. This cow would give birth each year between the campsites where the bears didn't go. We saw them again in September. She successfully raised calves for 5 years that we know of.

We were very careful to make sure she didn't know we were there.

My brother and his friend were out hunting in the boat, hadn't seen anything and had kinda stopped looking when they rounded a bend in the river and there was a cow with 3 yearling calfs. They were too shocked to do anything, the cow let out a bellow and they all ran off, he said they were about 10 feet away. Lucky moose,! My brother asked his friend why didn't you shoot and he said well you have the gun. My brother said no ,you have both guns on your lap, his friend looked down ,oh !
