Target Practice - Day 1
New Excalibur Grizzly. Set up for target practice this morning. Had to leave it all for a bit while the flock got bored of it and the area. What a bunch of nosey tarts they are, so I did the weed whacking while I waited. Next time I'll target first ..weed whacking is hard on this old body of mine.
Set up bag on a bunch of logs to be cut for firewood. Ok, so locking in, well that takes some strength. Locked on target, shoot. Holy crap! Some good kick back. Wasn't prepared, missed target and broke an arrow. Mother Nature now knows my filthy mouth.
Bunkered back down and took a few more shots. Not bad for first day. Might be a bit addictive, plus I'm goal driven. I'm already planning on setting up again later and practising some more.
When I hit a bullseye I predict EVERYONE will know!

Nice, well done! How far are you from your target? Don't hit a living tree, or chances are good you'll have to cut the bolt out, even with a practice tip.

Nope, hit the wood pile. (Trees already down for firewood) I'll have to measure later. Feels like a million miles but look through the scope and it's nicely in view. It's further than my deck to the one spot they stalk. I'll measure later when I set back up again.

Just using practice tips for the bag I got for practice. Those things are damn expensive!! And I'm about to hit the website and I'm sure I'm about to learn bolts are expensive too LOL.

WOOOOHOOOOOO! well you did a heck of a lot better than I did my first few shots. i have a compound and a crossbow and I couldn't even tell you how many bolts n arrows iv lost! they just disappear buried in the ground somewhere and I do have expensive expensive arrows for the compound grrrr! but I dont have a proper target so im guna make one out of feed bags. I keep saving feed bags and shove them all in one bag. it may take a while. LOL I only had one bolt left for the crossbow until I found another that I had lost earlier HAHAHA! I will have to start practicing soon myself. have fun!

Target Practice - Day 1

Yup, the tips are the cheap things......
carbon fiber bolts are in the $10-$12 per each range.
I know..... Please don't ask why...

Nice shots!
How are the mosquitos now?

Breezy day today so the mosquitos don't seem as bad. But with the rain coming tomorrow and high humidity it's about to turn for the worse here. I was soaked in clove and cinnamon essential oil this morning and only got 3 bites; that's a good day for over here haha!
