Well even though I cursed it for causing my power outage here on Thursday evening it really did make for some interesting ice formations on shrubs and trees.

Beautiful and scary at the same time. :)
It's lucky the young birches are so flexible.
Some of the old birches around our place are still carrying wounds from the Ice Storm of 1998 (?) here.

Yes it looks beautiful but really hard on the trees, lots of limbs down here.

No Kathy believe it or not it pops right back up. A couple years ago when we had that bad ice storm that birch trees tops were touching the ground!!

You have along lane way lined with trees, I bet it's a mess!! It's too bad, the older Maples seem to really get hit hard.

Thats good to hear-i have seen them totalled by ice like that. Had to remove a few from my granddads place in the laurentians one summer from major ice storm damage-they never straightened up.
Hopefully it managed to melt some today!!

Oh no Colleen, that's a shame. I am not sure if it's the type of birch that I have or not but it seems very pliable??
