well shes darn near white now! Someone, maybe Coonhound had said he suspected this was guna happen... i guess shes not a black or an exchanger at all!
So this is obviously genetic, but wow 3 years later the full metamorphosis happens. im not intentionally breeding her so I dont really care but what is the proper term for her besides cull, (which im not) shes a good hen and a great layer. the chicks didnt survive... thats the price of free range sometimes. man was i mad but i dont really want this popping up in any future generations....

i would keep her and breed her to everything i had just to see what would happen! LOL. she is a gorgeous little hen...that's what "mixed layer flocks" are for Al! experimenting! LOL i bet she will go darker again as she gets older. just because.

That kind of thinking will get you in to all sorts of trouble and then you will need a new barn!

Hahahaha Hey OC.... i have a massive new to me barn!
she is very pretty and one of my originals. well then when I get to setting up breeding pens who should she go with first? I still have both black lh roosters. I never did cull them :-D lol.
Erin you have a Cochin hen (wow spell check knows that word and Iv never typed that before!) those are the huge birds right? maybe I should get a descended roo from her, off of you and start there and see what happens :rofl1:
Anyone know what this is called? theres gotta be a term for it? Robbie - anything come up in the genetics calculator?

- Blue molt?
Well that got me thinking about this Blue hen having a mysterious colour change after molt.
She is 2.5 years old and has been Blue until this Oct.
so perhaps she is going to change in to splash??? or something???
