Moon Pics

Post by Killerbunny » Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:20 pm

Playing around with the moon for fun. It's quite tricky because it's best to use mirror up and remote release. Many folks with phones get good results.

@lolotsung a lot of the astrophotographers get great results with phones these days. With an SLR it's best to use mirror lock-up with a remote. I use a 100-400 Tamron on the 400mm setting.

I can clearly see the craters in the first photo. I wonder if it's because it's not a full moon? What speed did you use? 1/60?

1/125 so close with spot metering but yes craters are easier when not full and you can follow the terminator. Also always underexpose the moon because you can bring out detail in post process.
