Well I wasn’t expecting go to do this this winter but this little cutie was posted to my Facebook by a friend and after much deliberation I was hooked. I have been wanting to get a dog since I was a kid but never thought I had the time but now just seems right. Her mum is a smooth coat Border Collie from Texas and her dad a border collie x Australian shepherd. Needless to say I’m going to need LOTS of time to work with her and will be getting lots of exercise!

So, introducing Kukla (Greek for little doll/monkey)

Aww, she's adorable! LUV-A-K9 here in Kingston is an awesome place to train them! I highly recommend it. Gwen, the owner, is great to deal with. Good luck!

She’s booked in starting next week! They were highly recommended by my neighbours here. Needless to say, she’s really smart and keeps me on my toes, but that’s what I love about her!

Apparently all in good time, you are bound to get plenty of exercise and Agility works well both for energetic dogs and motivated owners :)

@Brebis all the "free time" you had is now puppy time  read a book about how to train a puppy...consistent eg. hand signal and say SIT once (my sit command is a combined "sit and stay" command), puppy MUST sit and stay until you show the OK hand signal and say OK (I made this command up, you can use your own commands, whatever works best) or you say another command eg. DOWN; as opposed to what my hubby does which is, say sit 3 times quickly, dog sometimes sit, sometimes doesn't sit, he walks away and the dog is left wondering how long he will need to sit, the dog waits for awhile, figures out the human has forgotten he is still in the sit and stay command and walks away  which leads into try (some humans can not be trained  ) and train your whole family so they teach the puppy the same way... go to eg. Home Depot and ask many people to tell your dog to sit, the puppy is getting use to different smelling, looking people, and getting outside (more distraction) training; positive reinforcement (if you lose your temper, give yourself a timeout  )...play after training...very similar to raising children  I also have a command called FREE (made this command up too, I say free and swing my arm down and out of the house, open the door of the crate if the dog tries to leave, close the door so he can't, play around with the door exercise until he figures out he can't leave until you give the free command then do the same for the dog bed and then put dog on leash and do the same for your front door...the dog cannot leave the house unless you say free...so if someone leaves the door open, your dog won't leave unless you say free...which reminds me...I did a few videos for my friend when she got a puppy...https://youtu.be/QOpBkzMGF5g...https://youtu.be/rp2E4pIY9d4...https://youtu.be/Du3V_mlRuM4
