@Killerbunny Live Chick Cam

FYI I had a $40 WYZE Cam v2 (indoor and 1 way audio) at home but there is a new $50 WYZE Cam v3 that is (indoor/outdoor and has colour night vision) with a 2 way audio. All you need to do is install the WYZE App. If you share your WYZE cam then the people you share with can control and talk to the cam eg. my bother says hello on the cam regularly. I used BlueStacks as my Android emulator and OBS Studio to create my Twitch stream. Both programs are free and easy to use.

The chicks do not like the brooder anymore. Am I doing something wrong? It is 91 degrees at the center. We had a power failure this morning. :-o I was just about to bring them into the house and start a fire and the power came back. :-)

When you search on Twitch note that V3g3m1te has the number 3 to replace the E and then number 1 to replace the letter I

It is 95 to 100 degrees right under the heat lamp so it is a bit warmer than under the brooder.

To keep the water clean ( crucial for health of chicks) you need to raise the water every couple of days, since they grow very fast.
If there is bedding in the water, ( and droppings) the waterer is too low.
I had a different thickness blocks of wood to raise the waterer, the firs one a board, so they could get on it, then exact size of base of the waterer as they got bigger

Sorry just watched the video, the temperature sounds a bit high, go by the chickens behaviour, you can always raise the heat lamp to see if they are happier

Will they know how to use it? I have a green container with nipples but none of the chickens use it. I tried putting peanut butter on the nipples and still they go to the dog water dish.

Where would I buy the waterer @Kbr42 ? Thank-you for the help.

You will have to show them how it works by depressing the nipple several times while they are watching, and leave some water in the "shelf". When they go for the water, depress the nipple again so that more water is left on the shelf. This isn't something that will happen overnight. You will need to repeat the lesson several times every day for several days, until you see that at least one of them is "getting it". Good luck! P.S. it's good practice to have a redundant water source for them, in the event that the primary source fails, for whatever reason.

@lolotsung I got mine years ago from https://www.premier1supplies.com/p/chic ... cat_id=141
They are expensive but so worth it. @Jaye is correct you have to show them how to use it. Once they get it, they never forget it. I put these type of waterers out in my yard every summer and they all remember how to use them.
