Looks like a adult to me. You can see barring on the tail. Came down to try to take a sparrow and the turkeys saw it and attacked. Very flustered hawk rushed to get off in a hurry. Maybe Coopers?

Beautiful bird, not sure I'd want it landing on my head, I think those talons would hurt!

Anyone remember Malcolm the falcon from Loony tunes with Sylvester adn Speedy Gonzales? He landed on Sylvester's head all the time.

Funny that this subject popped up again today.

I looked out of the window this afternoon, just in time to see a large hawk flying into the chicken run! By the time I had grabbed my coat and dashed outside, it had flown away and looked quite small, high in the sky. Sorry that I didn't get a chance to ID it.

The chickens were spooked and all came to the door to see me, cackling away about what a terrible experience it had been! At first, I thought we were one down, but I finally found her in the nesting box. These are full-grown hens, so it's not as if one could have been carried away by a hawk, but they stayed in the safety of the covered run for a couple of hours after the nasty encounter......

I had mine out came home to find them all hiding and a large bird circling overhead. It was funny the chickens saw me and started coming out of hiding, guess they figured their protector was back so they were safe. Not sure what kind of bird, hawk or Ravin maybe.
