Tweeps my therapy turkey!
OK so here is tweeps (aka Duchess) who listens patiently to me and is rarely rude.
@Farrier1987 may be right and I'm a prevert! The 3 ladies wre totally disinterested and left.
Also we were out getting some pics today and I got a picture of a wild turkey exhibiting typical male turkey display behaviour. I think

Re: Tweeps my therapy turkey!
KB, I swear, I wasnt going to, but I can't resist. I am such a weak person.
Farm lady has her turkey at the fair. Afterwards, she has some shopping to do, so she carries it under her arm.
A drunk stumbling down the sidewalk sees her. Looks her over, up and down then says "Where dja get the pig?"
Lady says indignantly, "That's not a pig, its a turkey!"
Drunk looks her up and down, then fixes her with a bleary eye then slurs: "I wuss talkin ta the turkey."

Re: Tweeps my therapy turkey!
OK so now I will post the full story about Tweeps. She is probably the nicest youngster I have for going into the breeding programme. Anyway due to me mistiming when she'd start breeding I didn't get the saddle on in time and she had what appeared to be a minor tear which I doctored up with BluKote. She did fine for a week until I saw she was limping very badly on the Saturday morning. Grabbed her up and checked her. She had partly healed an then torn open the original wound which had gone down as far as her rib and left a 4" gash in her side. If this was one of the lesser females that would have been the end of the story and we'd have had turkey dinner. Emergency call to our very good farm vet. This was at the beginning of the COVID-19 stuff when they were still seeing a few patients. Met vet at the hospital and she had to do 1 1/2 hrs of debriding and stitching (6 sutures) to let the wound reheal properly. Turkey was very well behaved but had 2 doses of sedative which didn't really kick in until on the way home. Vet was happy that she didn't need to call in a Tech and that we were able to help and not squeamish at all. SHe has since been in a private coop and will not go back to the main pen until next year. Hopefully then she will have fully healed up. Currently she is healing nicely and flying well again. We call her the $30/lb turkey but she is worth it. Pictures below GRAPHIC!

Re: Tweeps my therapy turkey!
I hope he doesn't see this post BUT I sent DH out to get us all coffee because I knew it would be a long job and had the opportunity to have a frank discussion with the vet. She is a farm vet so gets it. Little girl has healed up great so far but no guarantees.

SHe is back to laying well so no internal trauma, even showing signs she may want babies soon. I think @modern17 may have seen her at the OPB show, nicest of the young females. Let's hope she fulfills her early promise!
