Ok here's LB checking out what's for supper this evening.
He's an old boy now. He's lost a lot of weight the past year. And he has those old cat eyes now

I could use a "feral" cat around here to help keep the mice, red squirrel and chipmunk numbers in check. But we have Eastern Whip-o-wills here and I am pretty sure a cat will make a quick meal out of them or at least their babies.

We have Whip-o-wills here too. Wilton isn't allowed out at night and to my knowledge when he has been, he has never caught one. Lucky for us..love their call!

My Puddle/Other cat is a twin to Happy's LB.
And yes Ross, those estimates are real. My cats are indoor only, because of that. Get about 5 min in the morning with the dogs. And, true confession time, I have done some population control on excess feral cats in the past. Not for quite a few years now, but I have, and no apologies made for it.

Re: Your Rescue Cats & others
Cats & young pack wolfs are hardwired to kill but not always eat . That’s the big problem . I too Farrier most of my live traps fill up with bedraggled hissing wild cats crazyer than any raccoon .I like HOUSE cats (never out) but wife is allergic to them. Here’s pic of one I hand raised back in mid 70s house cat of course . Lol Name was Jill halter broke & took her to kids TV shows , fairs & schools for animal day . Individuals would never be allowed now but got her done .

Ha! Ha! Ross that kitty would kill more than just birds.
I'd love one of those but I'm afraid I might end up on the menu. Lucky you for being able to have had one.
