Conjoined eggs

Post by Jaye » Tue Jan 21, 2020 10:59 am

Sharing what was found in one of the quail houses this morning - conjoined eggs, and their contents. One double yolker and a regular egg. I think the cold weather must have something to do with this.

They do look yummy, don't they? However, I don't know how they tasted because those eggs in the pan were well fried and fed back to the quail. I know they were frozen, but still ...
Oh, and the other day we had a Quail Tractor light timer malfunction and the lights were accidentally left on all night. That may also have been a factor.
I'm pretty sure this conjoined egg was laid by one of our older hens because there are several who sometimes lay double yolkers.
