One of my 3 black mottled Serama pullets laid the first egg today. It weighs 15 grams. :)

Put a coin beside it to give us a relative size, I know they are super small.

Here's the egg compared to a toonie. I think it was laid by the pullet from Saskatoon, the biggest one.

I called her Fancy. This picture is from September 10th. I need to take some new ones.

She certainly is Fancy! Love these little birds. Lots of personality. Nice to finally get an egg. Are you planning on breeding them?

That still seems an awfully big egg for a tiny bird!

People are always shocked at the size of egg my old english girls lay. They are larger than they seem they should be for the size of the chicken!

I was planning on breeding a few, but I also planned on selling some of the ones I have. My plans often don't work out. I'll see what happens toward spring. She has developed a gibbled left foot.

Well injuries do happen but you could still get some nice babies from her.
