Yellow summer squash and zucchini

Post by Jaye » Tue Aug 27, 2019 7:10 am

I planted a yellow summer squash next to a zucchini this year.
I didn't realize that there might be cross pollination.

I think the result is pretty and they taste fine. Apparently some other creature likes them too because I have found several with chunks out of them. 🙂

That is pretty funny, who knows what's going on in the garden when you aren't watching? ;)

 I don't know what that means but it sounds like something not good. Does this mean we shouldn't be eating them?

No it's totally fine. It's like when you have pink asters and the colour reverts to purple. It's just a thing that makes it revert to what a parent would have looked like!

Great. I think I have reversion virus. I swear my mom looks back at me from the mirror each morning!
