Goose on the loose

Post by Shnookie » Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:05 pm

For the last 2 days this goose has been hanging around my yard. It is not making any noise, but doesn't look sick or hurt. It walks on the grass, swims on the dugout, and sometimes lays down. There is no mate with it. 6 geese flew over the yard this morning but they didn't stop, and this one is still here, alone. Maybe it's on vacation.

We have a Bachelor turkey hen hanging around this year again, some birds just prefer solitude ? ;)

Maybe it was sick, or died. I found this on the grass near the dugout this morning.

Likely the coyote got it. I don't have any other predators here this year. The goose flew into the yard so I was surprised that it got caught and didn't fly away.
