Chicks!

Post by Brebis » Sun May 12, 2019 4:39 pm

Picked up 12 little darling chicks from Performance Poultry yesterday, 5 welsummer (f) and 7 Blue Hamburgs (2 m, 5f). Nice mix of colours for the Hamburgs so looking forward to see how they grow!

There is one Welsummer that is very light and I’m wondering whether it will stay that way as it ages. The last batch I had from them were all the usual darker chipmunk colour so should be fun!

I have no idea if all chipmunk patterned chicks follow the same rules but when my old English hatch the lighter chipmunk patterned ones are boys. The ones with more defined markings and eyeliner are the girls.
