What a thrill! It never gets old. It's still astonishing to me that you can add a little heat to an egg and turn it into a baby chicken!

Re: Day 14
Short but sweet. DH took videos of all of them as I candled, but I liked this one best because of the little feet showing up.
Thanks! We are fast approaching the nail biting phase: Day 18 is this Saturday.
IKR? It's an amazing thing to witness, right from first candling. As of the last time I candled at Day 15, there are 7 that may potentially hatch if all goes well. All 5 of Biscuit's eggs were NF (no surprise there actually), 1 of Cilla's eggs was NF, and there have been a total of 5 early quitters, 2 at Day 5 candling and 3 at Day 7 and 10. The quitters were sad to see, especially the later ones.windwalkingwolf wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 11:00 pmWhat a thrill! It never gets old. Thanks!
I fired up incubator #2 yesterday. Hopefully it will come up to and maintain temperature, so that I can use it as a hatcher.

Re: Day 14
First early surprise chick, hatched in the hour and a half we were gone to the dog wash! I thought I heard a few cheeps before I left, but didn't see any egg movement or pips, so I chalked it up to hearing birds outside. When we got home, we saw this little one. I was not expecting any to hatch before tomorrow.
