At one small herding dog demo I saw, the sheep being used were quite used to people and crowds but had never been herded by a dog before. The poor dog couldn’t get them to move as all the ewes lined up facing the dog and stomped and ran at it! The handler commented that that particular dog was used to timid sheep and these sheep required a one with a bit more attitude!
