Not purple but I got dark olive finally!
I have had many shades of light olive, taupe or green eggs from various crosses but had been hoping for a nice dark olive egg to add to my color wheel. I had been hatching a few eggs from my wheaten Ameraucana hen that is in my Marans flock for several years but have always ended up with gorgeous roosters or single combed pullets that would lay a pink or brown egg. Finally this spring I got a pretty pea combed pullet from this cross that has just started laying the dark green olive egg!
Still along way from my purple egg but a nice shade non the less!
The pullet is very pretty and very friendly also and one of my kids' favorites!
Pictured is the olive egger pullet and her blue copper Marans father.

Nice egg carton chicken horse. That is what I strive for too, but yours outdoes me for sure.

Very nice colours! I have a pullet like your grey one....her eggs range from light green, blue and that dark Olive colour. Nice egg carton!

All those colours from the same hen? I thought that once they laid one colour, thats what they laid for the rest of their life (with a small variation in shade based on time in their laying cycle). I thought maybe from a medium blue to a light blue, but from blue to green to olive? Hmmm.....
