Re: My Ameraucanas
@Happy I was at Lois's a couple of weeks ago and I alway try and guess the breed of chicks she has for sale. On this day, one little one looked dead and the other one was going nuts. I said..awww, and went to pick it up and it moved! Lois told me there were only 2 left and would I try save it. So, I took both home I managed to get the look that looked dead to stand up and drink a little ...but sadly, it didn't make it through the night. So I still had the other one. It took a bit of convincing but I got my Swedish flower hen that was already fostering my 3 just hatched silkies to take the new òne. And the rest is history....now i have a standard in with my silkies....lol
I like the buddy system for my flock. I always try and introduce in groups of 2 or 3. So, the ee is part of my silkie flock.

Ummm, why did Lois's birds appear dead? I've been sitting on my hands for some time now, but I really think I need to say something here: Are you quarantining the birds you got from her? Do you know what illnesses Lois's birds are dying from? Are you aware that you are putting all of your birds at risk?

I guess I don't know what or who Lois is. Good for you for taking pity on the poor things but Ive got to agree with Jaye that you need to be very careful about bringing sick one's home. I hope it all works out well for you and that cute little chick! How old is it?

The little chick is 6 weeks or so at this point. They were cold when i picked them up. Otherwise very healthy. Thanks for the concern.
