Brewwwwwdyyyyyyyy

Here we go again. Stella is broody for the 3rd time since April! She hasn’t successfully sat for 21 days yet! She does, however, get more fierce looking each time!

I was attacked by an Ameraucana broody this morning....full fledged rooster type attack and she wouldn't give up, never hatched anything... ever.... these "theoretical" mothers must be the worst ? ;)

Stella only looks fierce. She’s a big pussy cat and screams and runs the other way if anybody makes a move for her. I feel bad for her. Her last time she sat on nothing for 2 weeks and then gave up as quickly as she started. She snapped out of it maybe 3 weeks ago then without warning just jumped right back into the nesting box again. I pull her out 3 times a day and keep an eye on her condition.

i have three EOs just went down for the count. one i tried to stop for the last 6 weeks. she hasnt lost condition but i dont want her sitting longer so let her sit and get it out of her system. shes been sitting 2 weeks now....
honestly its warm enough to incubate eggs without sitting i think...

I’ve had multiple go broody this year two and three times!
I take them and lock them in a cage for 3 days with NO bedding
Works every time
They start to lay again. Then wham - broody again
So back in the cage. Lol
