Dozing Hens

Every time we let the chickens out to free range, they are so much more calm when they are put back into the enclosure. Here is a picture of a couple of them enjoying the Spring sun.
- I closed my eyes for 2 minutes, and now you're here. You can stop leaning on me now.

Nice, you can just tell all is well with the world when the hens settle down in the sun like that.

That reminded me of my grandma, who used to say ; "I am not sleeping, I am looking inside myself"
looses something in translation, but you get the drift :)

My uncle always said something like this too. I am not sleeping, i need to examine my eyelids for cracks. Lol. I love when they get all stretched out with one wing up and one leg out in the sun. The picture of utter contentment.
