Ellie-May is the chick that had the limp/hernia/whatever it was. I’ve realized recently that I think there still may be something wrong with her. She still walks knock-kneed. Some of that may be an optical illusion because of those huge foot feathers. She’s clumsy and thats typical for a feather foot at her age. But her body is TINY! There’s nothing to her. Where her breast should be is concave and her breast bone is very sharp. She eats well although I’ve never felt a huge crop on her. Her poop seems normal. She keeps up with everyone. Doesn’t get bullied. Her feathers appear healthy. Will just keep an eye for now and try to sneak her an egg or some tuna on the side and see. Any other suggestions?

Here’s Jethro and Teeny Weeny tonight. These two are inseparable at night.

Too cute! Maybe Elle May is just slower to mature, have to wait and see.

Can’t believe my luck. I just found Jethro a great home. He’s actually going to the same lady that purchased my Cochins earlier this year. She has the Cochins in a seperate pen and all of her laying chickens together in her barn and free ranging. Her rooster was recently killed by a hawk. So Jethro will have an entire flock of hens to himself! He will be moving within the next couple of weeks. Lucky boy!
