Jolene continues to surprise me. She started laying 5 days ago. She has laid every single day.

I don't know about any records, but I do know that once our Deanie got going, she laid an egg every day for at least two weeks before there was a break. Of one day. Have I thanked you for Deanie lately, BTW, @windwalkingwolf ?

It’s amazing to me lol. I’m used to the new ones laying every other day for a couple weeks. Jolene and Deanie are keepers

Jaye, Deanie lays green eggs, yes? Has she gone broody yet? Her hatchmates are masters at hiding nests. And if they hide them, and I don't find them (or sometimes even if I do), next thing I know I have 8 more chicks. Had to rescue a batch from a rubbermaid tub in the cover-all a couple of days ago--babies couldn't get out. Good thing they were being noisy, or I never would have found them. They were at least three days old, probably closer to five, and getting thirsty. Deanie's one sister just started turning away her 3rd batch of chicks since May, two days ago, so I thought I had some time. BUT, she's hid (another) nest from me, I just found it yesterday. 8 eggs. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't catch her in the act. I'm hoping since I took the eggs that she won't go clucky again, if she does, it will be the fourth time this year! When she's not sitting a nest, she's a ridiculously good layer as well, and her eggs are quite large for her size.

@windwalkingwolf , yes, Deanie lays green eggs, but hasn't really shown any overt signs of going broody. Oh, wait ... she kind of did, just before Penelope got serious a few months back, and then she changed her mind. No signs since, really. She does keep me guessing as to where she's laying, though. It changes regularly. It sounds like her sisters would be perfect for someone who doesn't have an incubator. ;)
Oops, sorry for the thread hijack, @Happy . :hide:

All Jolene’s eggs. 12 days 12 eggs.
Her egg clock seems to run on 24 hours because she is laying about 8am everyday.
