Got our holiday goose yesterday :)



Second year in a row mama Embden has tried to make a. nest in the fall, and this guy's egg was the only one not yet damaged by cold. So, I have lots of eggs for baking, AND a fluffy Solstice present :D

Ha! Ha! A nice gift for sure!!!

So, being an "only", we have a problem. I've named him. His name is Nugget. He's had his first meal, first walk/run/fall over and flail about, and he's imprinted on people. He's only happy when he can see a person or is tucked into a shirt. He's currently in a box wrapped in a towel, and I'm having to kick/wiggle the box to simulate me carrying him around, or else he pops out of the towel and yells. Loud and long. I tried Jaye's awesome little fake mama, but it wasn't fooling Nugget for a second, unless I wiggle the box. It's like rocking a fussy baby lol! It's going to be a very long night.

Oh I can see hes going to be a house goose. much like little Happy. Pampers here we come!

He can live with the house chickens!

Would a small mirror in the box keep him company?

Battery operated toy?

Old school alarm clock wrapped in something snuggly to simulate mama's heartbeat?

Baby bouncy seat? little Einstein toy? iPod? Snuglee? or whatever they are called these days?
Kangaroo pouch? perhaps attached to a teeny weeny kangaroo?
You know you are doomed now right?
