"HELP" ~ MALE or FEMALE chicken?
I put my bird for sale as a cockerel.
Someone wrote me & said it looks like a pullet.
He said the way it stands & has no head streamers
"IF" it's a pullet, I want to keep her, but NOT if it's a male.
I "assumed" it's a male because of the red waddles
OPINIONS please?

I can't say if it's male or female, but I wonder if you could find out by putting it near a rooster (in a cage so they are separate), and then watching how they both behave.

Re: "HELP" ~ MALE or FEMALE chicken?
the bird is in a pen next to a full grown rooster, but the 3 birds stay away from him.
My Avatar is of Millie, the mom.
But as you can see, she has NO waddles.
I'm confused, I think it's a boy because of the waddles.
cray!

Re: "HELP" ~ MALE or FEMALE chicken?
My mother-in-law has wattles and also waddles.
The wattles (extra skin) are because she lost 50 lbs., the waddling is because she's still got an extra 100 lbs. to go.
Sorry, I had to. I've always had a smart mouth, but my brain hasn't caught up yet. I think it's a lost cause
Anyway, I think that's a cockerel, too. His 'streamers' might not be obvious, but I'm pretty sure they're there.
I think you should hang on to ALL your chicks until crow/lay, for educational purposes :D That way, people like me, who have NO idea what they're doing, can maybe learn something without actually buying hairy chickens :D
