Unusual egg

Just brought this one in. Out in the middle of the barnyard, which says probably pullet first egg. Got a couple from WLL on piknik day, timing would be right for one of them I expect. Wife says they look like owls, so they are Hoot and Toot. Don't ask me which is which.

I digress. The egg. Strange colours, mottled and shaded differently. Looks sort of like my back after I fell off the ladder, or craters on the moon. So what is the guess? Will this colouring continue? Will it even out to one colour in the future? Is it maybe a sign of puberty, like zits when you are a teenager? I welcome your thoughts. Thanks.

Wow it does look bruised, doesn't it! I found an egg once on the floor of the coop that landed nicely in a fresh pile of poop under the perch. The end that sat in the poop until I plucked it out looked much like your egg after I wiped/washed it off. I couldn't even bring myself to cook it for the chickens and just tossed it. BTW I love the names!

I did wash it. You can eat any egg like you talk about Happy. That's why they have shells.

The first one looks like a view of Earth from the space station.
The pullet must be at that formative stage when it can't quite decide what it's going to be (lay) when it grows up?

Looks like a rotten turtle egg the dog dug up! Have you cracked it open yet?

Its still in the fridge. I might blow it and save it for jaye if she really wants it.

Its likely a green layer having issues getting the green going. She is a marans crossed with ameraucana, and that would likely be from the marans with purple eggs by the looks of it with the bloom. Give her a couple weeks and see if it settles into an olive splotchy colour mess. Lol
