Meet the cast of characters.
Last weekend I went to a small sale and ended up getting a trio of Buff Brahma bantams. I really like that breed. I didn't intend to buy them but they were stuck at $12!!! I bid and got them for $16. I can't figure out why nobody bid. By the time I got them home there was an egg in the box, usually a good sign, the next day there were two eggs in the pen and both have laid eggs all week. One hen is a pullets, the other has a nice egg so can't be older than one year. The rooster is less than a year, it may not show in the photo but they are tiny. Maybe not top show quality but I think they are nice.
My favorites, my little Easter eggers, they are friendly but if frightened, it is up up up 7 or 8 feet and I like that.
The hen that lost her mate, she is with the EE hens now but likes to sleep near the ceiling lol. Agile even though she is half buff Brahma.
The rooster that came with the EE hens, I really like him, he was wild the first 24 hours but is sensible and is my buddy now.

They all look very nice, and great fun, but I think you may want to contribute to the "chicken math" thread :)

Re: Meet the cast of characters.
I had to put the black hen down, she was sick just like her mate and I have zero tolerance for sick birds. She never did lay. I am afraid it's Marek's, now I am worried about my ee bantams since she was with them. One of the buff Brahma hens is acting the same and has stopped laying, she could be next.
